Ok, the first step is getting to the airport and getting checked in. In the past we've had forgotten passports, oversized and extra bags, people running late and much more but not this time. Everyone showed up on time and ready to go, we even checked in no problem. With all this going right I started to worry a little bit but we made it to Hamburg without any stress. When we arrived our ride was a little late and proceeded to turn a 2 hour trip into a 9 hour odyssey to get gear and finally fi...

Ok, I'm starting the Europe blog early. I figure since we are working in a new Guitar player, Mike P we would do a warm up week at the Winners Circle in Harrisburg, PA. It's a haul so we took off last night and grabbed a room in VA. It's 9 am and we are back on the road. I just hope I remembered the adapter cable for the Crest Amp??? I'll start grabbing photos to post and get the video clips rolling. It's just every time I turn a camera on the guys do stuff I don't really want to post :)
I was just told that Janice Corder from Whitmire, SC passed away last night and I wanted to send out my prayers to her family especially her husband David Corder. We met her the last time we played Lucky Horse and I know everyone there will miss her. Janice you've been called home now rest in God's arms.

Tuesday, Apr 10th, 2007
We will be posting videos/blogs and a ton of pictures. So start checking in often in May
Country music newcomer Marcel scored a mild hit with his song Country Rock Star, a few years ago. Today, a real-life country rock star is invading the country music scene. Following two CDs and a not-so-famous lunge onto the rock circuit, Rick Monroe has found his niche with his initial country CD, Against The Grain.
"We're trying to get the perfect mix of country and rock," Monroe stated. "We want that everyday sound everyone can relate to."

Peavey Endorsement!
Tuesday, Dec 19th, 2006
Thanks to Michael Spriggs, I am proud to join the Peavey family. They are an amazing company and it seems they have everything a professional touring musician could ever need. It also doesn't hurt that they are the exclusive makers of Jack Daniel's Guitars, Amps and Basses.
With our up coming dates I am looking forward to breaking in our new Peavey PA and my brand new Peavey Briarwood™ Acoustic Guitars. I need to give the new guitars some names and I'll make sure to get some pictures ...

"Country music's alive and well across the pond!"–the email to me from singer/songwriter Rick Monroe, who'd just returned from Europe, proclaimed. "Our tour took us through Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland, and at each stop the venues were great and the crowds were so enthusiastic. It's amazing how country music breaks down language barriers. Because it's the stories of our lives, the lyrics are clear and easy for people to understand–no matter what language they speak. The morning...
RICK MONROE/Midnight Rider
Writer: Greg Allman;
Producer: Rick Monroe/Jeff Marshall;
Publisher: Elijah Blue/Unichappell, BMI; Divorce (track)
Willie Nelson tried taking this Allman Brothers chestnut down a country road last year. This effort rearranges the familiar tune into even more of a hillbilly bopper. I still say the dang thing deserves to become a country smash. - Robert Oermann

Divorce Records (CD promo)
It takes guts to cover a song as well-known as the classic "Midnight Rider"
but THE MOVE PAYS OFF for indie artist Rick Monroe as he turns a fresh take on the Greg Allman/Robert Kim Payne country-rock chestnut. A native of Sarasota, Fla., Monroe has built a solid fan base through aggressive touring in the United States and overseas inc...
SOME WOMAN...
Rick Monroe's showcase rocked the other night at 12th & Porter. An outstanding vocalist backed by a musically tight band, Rick featured songs from his "Against The Grain" CD - including the first single, "Midnight Rider" (you've probably seen the video on CMT) When he got to "Some Kind Of Woman," he shed his jacket and tossed it from the stage to his wife, Darci. Then he delivered the song with passion - and he wasn't singing to me. For more info go to www.rickmonroe.com
