Country New Verses Old? Country Music Verse Rock Music?

OK, this is always a crazy topic but as an artist and someone who makes a living playing music I'm always a bit confused by this. It never fails that someone is upset that we play to much rocking country or modern country or that we don't play enough rock while the DJ cranks Hip Hop between our sets? Then there are the line dancers that complain about tempos, which are different everywhere you go or not enough "Tush Pushes." It can ge...

Once again, thanks to LSU the SEC proves to be the 1 conference in college ball. Congrats to all you Tiger fans. I actually feel a little bad for Ohio fans. This is the 3rd National Championship in a row they've lost to an SEC team, that has to be rough.

We are heading into the studio to do some tracking today. We are getting close to getting the rest of the CD finished. We are also trying to pick the next song to release through our Nashville Noir deal. Maybe we should have you all pick i...

First work week after the Holidays! Wow do I have a ton of stuff to do!!! I think next year I'm just going to work through the Holidays :) it would make today much easier.

I'll try and do a daily blog. I'm sure some days will be more interesting than others. So far we are booking new dates, recording some great new music and the year is off and running.

Thought for the day:
Not to get overly political but this Presidential race is making for some great TV. This is the first time in dec...

Daily Log

Thursday, Dec 6th, 2007

Ok, I skipped a day. We made it to Cowboy Bill's GA. So far the club has some great people, they own a music store and all the house musician guys are great. There are a lot of people that we have in common. Which is cool. We are staying in the ECONO Lodge and it's a med room so not bad. Tonight is suppose to be super slow so we will see.

Still have the cold :( It's making me a bit spacey!

My computer completely died, it's the 2nd hard drive on the same machine so I guess it's time for a new one.

We are heading out tomorrow and after watching the news I'm more than happy to be heading south. As a matter of fact I'm rethinking our tundra tour right now. I'm sure my guys would rather find a way to stay below the freeze your buns off line.

Off to a few meetings and then pack for our trip. I'm looking forward to seeing t...

Daily Note Random Thoughts

Monday, Dec 3rd, 2007

Damn, I got a cold. I should know better than to use a mic at a jam. It always happens when I don't switch out the mic. I can't believe it's already Dec. November went by way to fast.

This week is full of meetings and then we head south. Which is nice since we come back and head North :( I'm not a good cold weather guy. Speaking of cold a friend of mine, Thomas Michaels is in SD and I got a pretty disturbing call him. The bass player he hd come in to sub for him was found in his hotel roo...

Woke up really early today and now that I'm trying to go back to sleep my neighbor is blasting music. I'm sure I'm loud at odd hours.

it's been a great month at home. I love playing but this has been the longest that I've been home since we moved here and I like Nashville. Now we have a few weeks of shows and I hope we can set up a few extra radio station stops this trip. Then it's home for Christmas.

We really have some exciting things going on and it's mainly the new music that has m...

8/16/07
We are heading back to WY. If you read my last blog you'd know we had a bit of a rough time out here last time but that was in the dead of Winter. This time should be pretty cool. We are headlining a Rock stations Summer Bash! I think it's great that we are a County band at a Rock show! I think we are the guys to handle it.

Then we have a light week were we can finish recording "Dear JD." After that we head to Jackson, WY and I've heard the place is amazing. I even brought ...

On The Road Again!

Wednesday, Apr 25th, 2007

Ok, I'm starting the Europe blog early. I figure since we are working in a new Guitar player, Mike P we would do a warm up week at the Winners Circle in Harrisburg, PA. It's a haul so we took off last night and grabbed a room in VA. It's 9 am and we are back on the road. I just hope I remembered the adapter cable for the Crest Amp??? I'll start grabbing photos to post and get the video clips rolling. It's just every time I turn a camera on the guys do stuff I don't really want to post :)

Tour Blog

Friday, Feb 16th, 2007

Here is the first of many more blogs to come.

Dec 22nd The Bresa Ostego, MI
Even though it was in 2006, it was the first show with the new line up and that club needs to give lessons in how to treat bands. It was one of the best club experiences any of us have ever had. It was their Christmas party, with a dance show in between sets and just a ton of fun.

Hitting the Road Dec 26th
What a long strange tip. We headed out the day after Christmas to make it to Ro...

Busy Saturday

Tuesday, Nov 7th, 2006

What a Satuday! We were up at 6am to run in the "Race for a Cure" for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Then to the Gator Vandy game, Gators won. It was ugly but they won. Next to the Ryman for Tommy B's wedding. After which we did a little bar hopping on Broadway. I'm posting more pics on my VIP section.

St Jude Children's Research Hospital

Monday, Oct 2nd, 2006

A few weeks back I had the honor of visiting and playing for the amazing staff and children at St Jude Children's Research Hospital. It is an experience that words just can't do justice. I only have 2 pictures now but we should be getting more soon. The strength and insight of the children is so far beyond their years. The most amazing thing about St Jude is that no child will be turned down for not having insurance and the St Jude also takes care of all th...

Day 1 New Mexico

Tuesday, Sep 26th, 2006

So we left Richmond dropped Matt back in Nashville and headed out to New Mexico. Don Shaw, the guitar player had just finished a gig in AR so we picked him up in route. He hooked up with the local taxi driver who took him out fishing, how random is that? Now we were at full strength and ready to do our time in NM. The first night we stayed at a hotel that was in the middle of a late night “street vendor” area and between crazies screaming and the cops sirens we didn’t get much sleep. The clu...

Europe 2006

May 31
We land and find Gabi, A little tired and hung over get in the van for a 2 hour drive to Hannover. We got a hotel just up; the street from Gaibi's in Seelse on the canal. You have to love these rooms with beds right next to each other. You really have to like the person you are rooming with to have to be that close. We got cleaned up and headed to Gabis and into downtown Hannover. I just wanted to stay up and get on this time as fast as possible. We had a few beers at ...

What a great night. We had Matt Troja, who is producing some new tunes for us filled in on guitar and it was a blast. It was a great "pre season game" for the up coming 5 week run. I love playing places that we've been because you get to see peolpe that have become like old friends or family. We look forward to going back soon.

We are on the road back home and we are about to hit a massive storm. I hope we get through the Blue Ridge pass before we get into it.

5 weeks? What a run I hope my wife and dog remember me when we get home :)

GO GATORS!!!!

Monday, Sep 18th, 2006

Yes, the Florida Gators won a big one saturday. I even dared to go out in Nashville last night in my Gator swag. A lot of sad looks but no hazing.

Now if my Bucs and Dale Jr. could get it together and win a few.

Today's Thought

Thursday, Sep 14th, 2006

Last night we were in the studio till 2am. I'm pretty tired but I really feel great about these new tracks. I'm working with Matt Troja who is a perfectionist. Which is good and bad. Good for the out come but bad because he makes me work harder than I ever have. I'm hoping we will be done mixing next week before we head to Richmond.

The allergy thing is still a drag but that is th price we pay to live in Music City.

Have a great day.
Rick

Server Trouble

Thursday, Sep 14th, 2006

ARUGHHHHHH! The day we really start to launch our fan club my sign up page goes down.
and all we get is a page error and an email...

It will be up shortly we had a security patch that when wrong.. The techs are working on this issue currently
-P

In the big picture this is just a bump but enough to get your attention ;) So hopefully it will be fixed tonight.

Allergies or Sick?

Tuesday, Sep 12th, 2006

The one thing about living in Nashville is the Allergies and I can't figure out if I'm sick or just getting the Nashville sniffle. I hope it's just the sniffle because I still have a bunch of vocals to finish this week and then we are back out on the road for the next few weeks. If you have any suggestions on the best way to deal with this I'd love to hear them.

Rick

9/11

Monday, Sep 11th, 2006

On Myspace I see a lot of people posting about 9/11, it's nice to see that we are not forgetting. All my thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost so much since the attacks of 9/11.

We also need to keep our troops and their families in our thoughts.

God bless.

Why I PLay Music!

Tuesday, Aug 29th, 2006

Hey Rick,

I just want to say thanks for the music you put out. I’ve been in the Navy for 21 years and right now I’m back on active duty after being recalled for the 2nd time since 9/11. In the real world I'm a Police Officer for a city in CT. But for the time being I’m serving my country again.

County music is what takes me through each day. After patrol I like to kick back and listen to music to unwind. Your songs also inspire me in what I write back home, your songs brings my true fee...

Here we go with a brand new website, Fan Club, Manager, Recordings and band members. What a crazy year so far. I'll be dropping in here on a daily basis if nothing else just to say hey. Today's big event was a trip to the Dentist, sounds glamorous huh? I'll have a lot more to talk about soon.
